Ann Vansickler Bock

One of our beloved friends, and my darling wife Ann, known to some as annvanfan....has passed on.
She died peacefully in her sleep suddenly Thursday, of heart failure at the age of 53.
She was the most warm, generous, loving person you would ever want to meet and call your friend

Ann's beloved husband and friend and TRUE soulmate,
-Heshy

It was a mutual love of Van's music that brought Ann and Heshy together. We, in the Van fan community, are all so saddened by Ann's passing and we send you all of our condolences and love, Heshy.
-John

Please feel free to share your thoughts here.

What a loss, she was a real treasure. I am stunned, crushed and devastated. Call me corny, but Ann and Heshy's meeting on the vanlists and their relationship was such an inspirational story to many people. Ann's gone Into the Mystic and leaves a legacy of love and joy behind her. Can you say in this crazy internet world that you have good friends you found on the net, well in the case of Ann yes. We IM'd frequently and I revelled in the stories of love and affection between her and Heshy that she shared. She was like a schoolkid when she told me they were getting married. She was a very dear and special lady, an angel of the first degree and I and many othes will miss her.

Farewell Ann, Sweet Thing

butterflies..I will never again look at a butterfly and not think of you, dear sister...

we shall walk and talk in gardens all wet with rain, and we shall never ever ever grow so old again...

till we meet again, Ann, in another time, another place...way up in the heavens....

I love you

Heshy: I am sorry to read of your loss. I meet a wonderful woman in the early 80's - and we began attending Van concerts in SF. We married in 88 and raised a family. When Van came to SF we'd always attended his concerts. She loved Moondance, and it became our song. My wife is in heaven now and I know she will greet Ann with a warm smile. When Van plays Moondance this weekend I will smile knowing that he plays it for our loved ones.

Bury your sorrow in good deeds, my friend.

Many a tear has to fall. God bless.

eshy,

I'm at a total loss of words. To lose a close friend is always hard to take. Ann was truly an incredible person, who will be missed dearly. I can remember back to that cold Chicago night 2001, when I was a young Van Newbie!! Barely 20 shows under my belt and not really knowing too many people on the list. Especially a lot of the mid-west/East Coast crowd. There was Ann making sure I was being taking care of and making me that delicious ham sandwich!!

Heshy as always it was great to see you in NY , but without Ann something was missing. It was always a joy and highlight to see her!! I was giving you hard time, because without Ann my trip to NY was not complete.

Into this life we're born
Ann sometimes we don't know why
And time seems to go by so fast
In the twinkling of an eye

Let's enjoy it while we can
Won't you help me sing my song
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road

Thank you Ann for being a wonderful person and great friend. Van gatherings will never be the same without you. I will see you down the road my Friend...

Love you,

Robert Schwartz
