This song sounds old to me, the synth in the background gives it away and his voice slightly different. I say it was recorded between 91'-93'.
I interpreted the song as a timely and scathing condemnation of Haitian relief concerts. Kidd Rock, Jay-Z, Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake...

That song is FANTASTIC! i was trying to find lyrics for it, and went to your site and see that it is a new song! great song, i was looking forward to seeing him sunday in ft. worth, really disappointed he canceled. i love this song! any idea if or when it will be on new cd? he have a name the song?

trying to find where to put how i came to van morrision
i was on holiday on london attending my aunties estate i was trying to get to the tate but it was closed so i went to petticoat lane i was looking for breakfast and found in a pease spam and eggs type greasy spoon-this is 1978- and i'm 37yrs old and have 3 kids. As i finished my breaky the doorway was filled with a large male animal wearing a green velvet jacket and paisley scarf He went up and ordered the same breaky i'd ordered- already we had something in common! I finished and left to shop. The restaurant was at the top of the petticoat lane hill - in those days petticoat lane was a mile long selling fair of beads clothes and bobbles - after a bit of shopping i spotted this raven b lack haired handsome Irishman dude at the bottom of the hill- he dismissed himself from the folks he was chatting with and headed towards me- we were about 3 blocks apart. We met- held hands-he invited me to a poetry reading which changed into a train ride to his dads home in Leischwort (sp?) where we stayed in bed for 3 weeks listening to VAN MORRISON!
Great song - who knows when it was recorded and who cares? It really doesn't matter.
I was also going to the Sunday Ft Worth show and am sorely disappointed it was cancelled. Hope he comes close again real soon!

This is, of course, a reaction and answer to the gossip and roumors currently in circulation. Van's message on his site, and the songs playing there now, is his very suitable reaction to all this. Here They Come Again, the blood suckers, the leeches, the vultures, the hyenas - Look what they've done...
I really hope Van is back soon, both in concert and new records.
